Lecture Chris Miller 28th September & Alison Gault 5th October

Chris Miller - Interaction design

I thoroughly enjoyed Chris' lecture as he was quite witty and enthusiastic when presenting his presentation to the class. I found his lecture to be quite interesting as he explained in a bit more detail about the foundation course and all that it entails.
He then went onto to discuss how he was a foundation student himself and because of having that one year of experience helped "springboard" him into his careers. He reassured us throughout the talk that that if you know what you want to do in life this course may completely change your mind as your eyes are being opened to new art forms everyday.

Alison Gault - Placement and Employability.

Alison Gault presented us with a very informative lecture as she discussed our future careers, the different possibilities of employment available in the creative industry and the importance of keeping you C.V up to date and making it stand out from the crowd. Alison has been the joint course director of Textiles for over 30 years, therefore she was very experienced and knew what she was talking about. She went onto talk about the Art and Design course and the creative industry, stating statistics such as how "the creative industry is growing twice as fast of regular industries" I was thrilled to discover this as I hope to be apart of the creative industry some day.
