The James Wray gallery was filled with very expensive art from important twentieth century paintings and sculptures. My eyes were mainly drawn to all of the beautiful Oil paintings that filled the room.
Artist name: Ciaran Lennon Title: Colour Collection Medium: Oil on Copper Panels Price: £4650 |
Lennon's 'Colour Collection' piece was one of my favourites as it had a very minimalistic feel to it but also felt quite rich due to the copper panels behind the oil. The light caught this piece beautifully due to the copper undertones.
Artist: Martin Mooney Title: Still Life Medium: Oils |
Artist: James Mckeowan Titles: Figures on the Beach. & Children in the snow. Medium: Oil paint. |
Artist: Neil Shawcross Title: Shortcross Gin Medium: Oil on Canvas Price: £5900 |
I also admired the thick layering effect of Shawcross' oil painting, it gave a unique texture to the bottle that glass wouldn't usually have.

Still life poppies |
